Andrew Oxley makes great headjoints and has been for several decades. Free blowing and versatile are his trademarks, but also with an engaging depth of sound. This headjoint is made of an alloy called Pinchbeck which is based on brass, but which has a similar density (and appearance) to gold. Its tonal qualities are therefore dark and rich with a hint of brightness given by the solid lip plate. The High Wave 'Silverwing' design gives a very powerful response. These heads are priced to be accessible so that less experienced players can afford to upgrade their instruments very effectively.
