This Flugelhorn predates Bach better know 183 model, and is a jazzer's dream! Played by the likes of Woody Shaw and Alan Shorter, this model runs brighter than traditional design flugel horn due to the smaller bell and bore, and the shorter length of conical tubing. Although still darker than a trumpet or cornet, the edge this model gives you helps solo passages to carry through a big band, and hold it's own in a section.
Wear & Tear Observations: This Flugelhorn has recently had a full restoration by a reputable workshop in the North of England, and is in good condition. There is a small dent on the leadpipe, a small aberration on the underside of the bell, and some visible solder around the little finger hook, which is slightly pitted. There is some surface corrosion of the 2nd valve slide. Other than that, this is a very nice example of this rare and distinctive model.
