The PHC mouthpiece gives the player a wider range of choices than any other mouthpiece currently available anywhere in the world. A particularly attractive feature of the PHC range is that, once a suitable rim has been selected, any of the PHC cups may be used with that rim. Therefore, in practical terms, an imaginative player will select cups to musically enhance particular areas of the horn's repertoire, range and tone-quality, without any unsettling effect on the embouchure.

The 'AS' (A range standard) has a 'balanced' i.e. mid profile position high point and a moderately flat face leading gently to a moderate bite point diameter. The design gives great comfort and so increased endurance but not to the detriment of precision of response. This design epitomises the origins of PHC.

The AS18 was conceived prior to current design and production methods and as such is 'based on' the 'AS' rather than being a totally faithfully reproduction in an 18mm cup diameter! Whatever the development history this rim has proven very popular with many players.

This pre-owned PHC mouthpiece is in great condition. It has a gold plated rim for comfort, and would help those with silver allergies.
