John Packer

I play in a brass band in East Sussex alongside experienced players with higher end cornets who listen to, and look upon, this beautiful instrument with envy. I bought the lacquered version last year and it really does sound amazing. It gives a lovely, rich, mellow sound, and is relatively free blowing providing easy reach of upper register notes. The valves spring reassuringly quickly, and overall this is simply a brilliant instrument.

A great sounding Sax as a big step up after first 6 lessons, well worth the investment to encourage me to keep learning.

WELL WHAT A LOVELY SUPRISE ! FOLLOWING A REVIEW ON A 280 ALTO, ANOTHER STUDENT GAVE ME THE LOAN OF HIS 280 TENOR. NOW THEN, I GAVE UP PLAYING TENOR A FEW MONTHE AGO WHEN I STOPPED TOURING AND STUCK TO MY 82Z ALTO, UNTIL THIS BABY CAME ALONG.
USING MY OLD 7*OTTO LINK TONE EDGE, AND ZZ REEDS, THE 280 TENOR GAVE ME EVERYTHING I WANTED FROM IT.
DO'NT GET ME WRONG, I LOVED MY 82Z TENOR BUT THIS YTS 280 HAS REALLY IMPRESSED ME.
N.B THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PROFESSIONAL SAXOPHONE, SO WHATEVER YOUR LEVEL, GIVE A LOT OF THOUGHT TO A YTS 280
AND IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET YOU CAN'T GO MUCH WRONG NEITHER.

This item was delivered quickly and is just what I need for my bassoon. Although it's a bit heavier/chunkier than I'd have wanted it is so much better than me just putting bassoon on the floor in between rehearsals/concerts!

Ruggedly constructed instrument with a clear and powerful tonal projection.
I have played on bass clarinets costing four times as much and the JP122 matches them in every way. Thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic service from John Packer. We bought a C clarinet for our daughter to learn on and it arrived promptly, well packaged, beautiful case and cleaning cloth. I subsequently realised we needed reeds and a stand, and after a quick email they were able to add it to my original order to save an extra delivery charge. Thoroughly recommended

Works brilliantly with my 10mFan mouthpiece

I find that this Reed works absolutely great with my 10mFan Supernova mouthpiece .

Excellent product - using on flute and sax joints and is neither too greasy nor dry. I prefer a pot to a stick (now muh more common). Delivery and packing tip top.
