Good when they are good but not as reliable as a batch. When good have clean distinctive sound throughout the range. Better for 1st playing
Item wasn't in stock - but I was informed straight away and with an estaimated ETA (it was early!). Note the item was considerably cheaper than Amazon.
The oboe reed was a gift, that was appreciated. Great value for money, nicely presented and quick delivery.
I had a broken valve guide and replaced all three. They need to be filed down wit h an emery board to fit into the slot in the valve casing. Not difficult once I looked it up, but it would have been useful to have that information on the web page when ordering.
Fantastic condition and really pleased. Fast delivery and great service will be using John Packer from now on for my brass needs.
Could not recommend this company and trumpet more highly. Alice was a pleasure to deal with, friendly, helpful and communicative. The trumpet itself is excellent - a real upgrade on my previous Yamaha. I never really knew what it meant when people said a trumpet slotted better, but it's much easier to find and pitch notes and I can play with more control both in a higher and lower register than before. Absolutely brilliant experience.
I've tried legere, fibracell, hartmann and Firestone, but these ambipoly reeds have the nicest sound and most natural cane like sound of all the synthetics I've played. The strength numbers are very different to the other manufacturers - I got a 2.5+ and had to sand it down loads, it was incredibly hard. I bought a 2 and this was fine out of the box, but it feels about the same as a Vandoren strength 3 in the V16 or java cut.
The reeds last a really long time - I haven't felt the need to replace them yet. The 2.5+ that I sanded down is over a year old and still sounds good.
Really cool product happy with it but slightly heavier than I thought as I was looking for something a bit more lighter .
Perfect for anybody who finds the current Bach 4G or Wick 4AL just a little to deep and air-hungry. Lovely warm sound, fantastic low register response, and top register fine with work! Rim very comfortable for me - better than any Bach or Wick and comparable to Doug Elliott rims IMO. I haven't tried the standard L4, but can't see why most players would need anything deeper than the BB model. YMMV.
Great as usual but I'm not sure why each reed is individually wrapped as well as in it's individual plastic case. Will be buying more soon.
Excellent mouthpiece for beginner at a very affordable price. Fast delivery. Would buy again. Thanks very much
This review relates to s JP271SW Bb Cornet which I recently purchased for our band. The response and service from John Packer was excellent. Short delivery time. The instrument itself is very good. In October last year I also bought a JP176 Eb Soprano Cornet. Same response and service, and again for a student instrument the quality is very good. Above all I consider these instruments to be excellent value for money.
Trumpet arrived within days of ordering, it came ready oiled and we are pleased with it so far!
For the price this is an excellent mute that sounds great and plays in tune. It is well made and comfortable to hold and use. The stem moves freely and easy to use when playing. A very good mute that is great value for money.
A quality mute for a good price that sounds great and plays in tune. Nicely made and comfortable to hold and use and the stem move freely for quick manoeuvres!
A nicely made support which I thought would help with the bari, but I had to decide it was just not for me as I would find moment restrictive and it would be awkward to put the instrument into its stand. I have reluctantly requested a return.
