Selmer Paris Saxophone Day with Alastair Penman (July 19th 2025)
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Selmer Paris Saxophone Day on Saturday, July 19th, at the John Packer Showroom!
Join us for a day dedicated to saxophonists, featuring the immensely talented Selmer Paris artist, Alastair Penman. This event is free and open to everyone, although a grade 5 + standard is recommended for the afternoon session due to the sight reading involved.
Here’s the schedule for this exciting day:
10am: We will begin with an opportunity to explore the latest sax gear, from electronics to mouthpieces and reeds. This will be an informal chance to get Alastair’s advice on how to get the best from your set-up.
11am: Sax fundamentals workshop: A group session for all levels wanting to improve their sax playing from tone to breathing.
12 noon: Lunch Break
1pm: The afternoon session will kick off with a presentation by Lucy from Selmer, including a fun quiz and a chance to have any questions you may have answered.
1:30pm: Massed ensemble workshop: Led by Alastair we will explore a range of sax choir repertoire whilst working on various aspects of playing. (Short break at 2:30pm)
4pm: The day will conclude with a special performance by Alastair.
