A Brief History of Barnes & Mullins
A shared enthusiasm for the bango brought Albert Mullins and Bowley Barnes together. The publication of “The Jo”, a musical instrument journal published in 1894 dedicated to the instrument, was the beginning of a history manufacturing their own bangos, and later importing other instruments.
Barnes & Mullins Ltd. is now a huge wholesaler of musical instruments and accessories, based in Shropshire UK.
The original Barnes and Mullins banjos are still sought after today, with collectors seeking them out all over the world.
