Like a magpie drawn to a shiny thing, Lyndon was inspired to join brass lessons aged 8 when the local music service visited his Dudley Primary school. First offered the cornet, when Lyndon saw a trombone, he knew that was the instrument for him.
Lyndon studied trombone at Birmingham Conservatoire before joining the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra and working as a freelancer in the UK. He joined the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009, but has a soft spot for brass bands where he cut his playing teeth in Dudley early in his playing years.
As a bass trombone player there aren't many opportunities for solo performances, but Lyndon cites a career highlight playing ‘Frosty the Snowman’ with the Desford Colliery Band.
