A Brief History of Stork Mouthpieces
The founder of Stork Mouthpieces, John Stork, owes his career to a serendipitous encounter at a brass centre in Giardinelli Band Instrument Company, in New York. John had just finished six years with the Air Force Band, followed by a cross country tour with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. He was alone and broke.
While Bob Giardinelli initially didn’t have a vacancy he decided to take John on which resulted in John learning everything about creating custom brass mouthpieces and encountering the world’s best musicians touring through New York.
Stork mouthpieces has now been in business making mouthpieces for over 25 years. It has moved from mid-town Manhattan, to the hills of Vermont, maintaining its focus on mouthpieces and nothing more.
