A Brief History of XO
The XO brand began with the vision of Koichi Haido, Chief Instrument Technician at the Global Corporation in Japan. After many experiments and countless prototypes, the first XO trumpet was introduced to the market in 1995.
In 2008 XO trumpets won “Band Instrument Line of the Year” in the awards given by the American musical publication MMR. Koichi Haido continues to explore innovative approaches to reach the goal of providing a comfortable and enjoyable playing experience for every performer.
In 2009 the XO 1600I was developed in collaboration with the American jazz trumpeter Roger Ingram. Vibrant and focused, it was designed for lead trumpet players in search of perfect sound projection and effortless intonation. That same year the XO 1600I trumpet was inducted into Kentucky Museum's “Instruments of American Excellence Collection”.
Koichi Haido hopes XO can empower musicians to deliver excellence in tone and performance for diverse musical genres, allowing players to easily achieve their own personal sound.
