Azalea flutes has a longstanding legacy originating from 1958 when the company was founded in Tokyo as the Yokoyama repair shop.

The company moved from strength to strength and started creating their own original flutes from 1967 and then later exporting them in 1972. They then went on to expand their range with a whole line up of harmony flutes appealing to players from student to professional alike. "Azalea Flute", which started as "Iwao Musical Instruments Factory" in 1966, has now been inherited by Mr. Yukio Yokoyama, who is now the second generation.

The IF-302A shares a lot of features with the professional models and its solid silver headjoint produces a characterful light and bright tone. The smaller lip opening provides responsiveness and allows for greater control.
