i play in a jazzfunk band and this it the perfect trombone for that fat warmth when you play a yamaha in the same setting i think it adds a coldness to the sound which to me is not that pleasant, i wish nils would dump his yamaha and try one of these, i think he would like it, orchestral and orchestral soloing this is also THE one to have, it can sit in section perfect weather it be soul, jazz, latin or brass band and has a fatness to the sound that really helps blend and fuse the sound of other brass instruments around it with out it standing out in a section as some other makes definitely do, it almost creates a solid warm base layer that everything else can sit on and add too, you will not get that same thing out of a yamaha. period
