Having played Besson and Yamaha Trumpets on and off over 40 years in a band I stopped and sold the trumpet. Now not in a and I decided I wanted to just play to backing tracks as a hobby at home so I just wanted a trumpet at the right price, but still wanted some quality. I was reluctant to buy any make so searched different brands. I found the John packer site and spoke to Tom Francombe the brass specialist and he assured me after I thought of buying the JP151 that it was a good choice and well made.
Trumpet arrived following day and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice sturdy case well made, nice quality lacquer, valves smooth, all tuning slides on 1st and 3rd valves really smooth. I've now spent at least 4 hours playing to tracks and I could honestly say it feels as good as any trumpet I've had before. Really well made. I would not hesitate to recommend the JP151 to any new student or intermediate like me. Staff at John packer have been really helpful and they have many experienced staff. Thanks Tom.
