Nailed it. To the Wall!

I dare anybody to compare this sop to anything that costs 4-5000, pounds or dollars. Yes, when I got it some time ago, I had to sort out some niggles with the triggers, and the receiver of the leadpipe wasn't trimmed properly to accommodate the collar. Once I had these two niggles sorted, it plays with better tone and intonation than anything way above its price. The triggers take care of the usual suspects. I play a Yamaha 11E4 when I want the traditional brass band cornet tone, and a Yamaha 11C4 when I want a more trumpet-y tone. The horn takes both mouthpieces in stride. It has inspired me to find both a brass band to play with where I live, and to work up the Haydn and the Hummel, as this sop gives the light clarion tone required for these classic solos. Thanks again for a great horn, which should be marketed as an intermediate horn worth much more than the price, not just a student horn.

A great value for your pocket ( and ears )

I'm an Eb cornet player in a french brassband ( nobody's perfect :) ) and was searching for a used or new Eb cornet. I already owned an Eb trumpet from JP, wich I bought used on Ebay, so I knew the quality of manufacturing, the quality of valves action, ...
IF you're wondering, ... don't wonder too much. Those are of a great value. When I'll finfd money for more, I'll get more from JP.

One thing though, the lead pipe might be a bit too long, last night I was 2 mm close to the end of being able to tune it in a higher pitch. But for know, since almost a year, it has not been an issue.

JP's custumer service is also good... having forgotten to put the oil bottle in the cornet case, they sent a one ( wich had problems during postal transportation, and arrived empty lol )
