Please be aware that our normal warranty/guarantee cover does not apply to this instrument as it has been pre-owned by a client and sold by us on their behalf. Whilst we do all we can to ensure that they are working to the best of their ability, such goods are purchased as seen. However if the item is purchased online, the procedure is covered by our distant selling rules which can be found on the delivery/returns page.
This long-model cornet would suite a player exploring a dixieland/New Orleans Jazz sound, for which the darker tone of the cornet is preferred. This classic American design would also be at home in a Wind Band or Marching Band setting, or as an intermediary instrument, for a small player looking for a more trumpet-like sound, but without the length of a standard-wrap trumpet.
Wear & Tear Observations: The serial number of this cornet dates it to 1965, and the instrument is in fair condition for it's age.
There is cosmetic scratching on the bell, and some larger marks on the contact points on the block, leadpipe and bell throat, most likely from a ring worn by a previous player, with some rippling on the leadpipe bend near the waterkey.
There has also been some words scratched into the outside of the bell-throat, that have faded with time.
