This Selmer 'Reference 54' Eb alto saxophone is ideal for the professional player or the advanced student looking for an amalgamation of a vintage sound and aesthetics with the reliability of modern saxes.  In the Reference 54, Selmer took inspiration from their hugely popular Mark VI - a strong centred sound with plenty of projection, whilst redesigning the neck, bore size and ergonomics. The result is an instantly recognisable sound in a sax that is a joy to play.

Compared to many vintage instruments, the key work on the Reference 54 is smooth and easy to play with a modern layout that improves tuning stability and makes side and palm keys a lot more accessible. This sax was bought in approx 2005 and is in very good condition.

Wear & Tear Observations: This sax is in very good condition with limited signs of lacquer wear or scratching. Just some minor scratching by the sling hook is present.

This sax has been recently serviced and has been checked over by our workshop ready for sale.

This Selmer Ref 54 comes in the original hard shaped case with D rings and detachable shoulder strap.  Also included is a Selmer C* mouthpiece and some pull throughs but no ligature. Please note there is no ligature, cap or sling supplied with this sax.
