This Leblanc grenadilla wood Bb bass clarinet to low Eb is ideal for the advanced player looking for a reliable, and affordable, doubling instrument that can be used in concert bands and orchestras.  

This instrument is an earlier leblanc with the serial number 875* that was their professional model at the time.  Leblancs are renowned for their rich dark tone and this bass is no exception playing with a full tone and ease in all registers.

Wear & Tear Observations: The wooden body of this bass is in good condition with just some surface scuffs and marks.

There are two repaired cracks, one to the upper tenon by the register key and another to the top of the lower tenon likely caused by a bracket fitting. Formally this bracket was attatched with 3 screws a piece to hold the joints as a single piece, the screw holes have been filled.

The cracks have been sealed for a number of years and have not reopened. There is plating loss to the most frequently used touchpieces but this is purely cosmetic and doesn't effect the clarinets playability. This bass has a full set of tan leather pads and has been regularly maintained and serviced.  It has been checked over by our workshop ready for sale.

This Leblanc bass comes in a protective, fabric covered, Protec case where the bass is stored in one piece. An extra neck is also included to give a choice of playing angles.  A student plastic mouthpiece is also included along but no ligature or cap.  We'd recommend purchasing a Rovner bass clarinet ligature, reeds and cleaners alongside this bass clarinet.
