This Vintage Conn 'Ladyface' alto saxophone is ideal for the advanced player looking for a pro -level vintage sax with a stunning sound.
This sax dates from 1938/39 and still has its original lacquer which is in good condition for its age. This is a mark VIII version. The VIII stamp on a Conn 6M alto saxophone indicates that the saxophone was made by a craftsman at bench number 8 in the Conn factory who produced work that was worthy of special distinction.
The stamp appears on both the body and neck of the saxophone. While the exact meaning of the VIII stamp is unknown, it's considered rare and sought after, and some say it denotes that the saxophone is even more special than other 6M models.
Wear & Tear Observations: This instrument is in good condition for its age with no dents or major scratching. There is just some lacquer wear patches to the back of the saxes body and a smaller one to the bell.
This sax has been recently serviced and checked over by our workshop prior to sale.
